Arsenal are reportedly in private talks to secure services of Ajax forward David Neres, however, face competition from direct Premier League rivals Manchester United, according to the reports.
The 22-year-old Brazilian forward has been in sublime form for the Eredivisie club this campaign with scoring 12 goals and providing 15 assists thus far, while his latest attacker came in the 1-1 draw against Serie A champions, Juventus in the Champions League 1/4 round on Wednesday evening.
Brazilian forward was also rewarded for his fine form with his first cap for the national team came last month and he provided two assists during a 3-1 win over the Czech Republic.
The South American forwrd has attracted interest from some of the top teams in Europe; however, according to The Daily Telegraph, the Gunners have begun negotiations with Dutch giants Ajax over a potential summer move.
The Red Devils are also interested, however, have not yet held talks, while the Merseyside Blues have held initial discussions with Ajax, over a £35 million deal for Neres.
Chelsea also keeping tabs on Neres’ progress in the Dutch giants, however, any move depends on whether they can avoid summer transfer ban.
Both Arsenal and Man Utd are in the market to strengthen their offensive end nd Neres typically plays on that side, although he is capable of operating on the opposite flank.
Arsenal head-coach Unai Emery, however, is reportedly working with a restricted transfer budget this summer, although that could be boosted if he secures to make a promotion to the Champions League football.
