How to Delete Photo Tags on Facebook

When a photo is remarked on or shared, tags can be used to attach locations and individuals to them, and tagged people will receive notifications. Even if the tagged individual’s friends are unrelated to the person who shared the photo, tags nevertheless allow them to access the image. However, due to the prevalence of cell phone cameras and the simplicity with which people can take and upload photos to Facebook, compromising or embarrassing images may end up in users’ news feeds. There may be times when you want to remove a photo tag of yourself or of other people in your own photo albums, which can be particularly problematic if coworkers or employers are Facebook friends.
